Peru

Well it seems that God has led us to an incredible opportunity.

By the first week of April we will be in Lima, Peru.

I will be teaching 4-year-old kindergarten and an art class three days a week for 3rd, 4th, and a combined 5th and 6th class.

Emily will be teaching 3rd grade.

We will be living several blocks from the school in a three bredroom flat with the 2nd grade teacher who is also single.

We are very excited and scared about the entire thing. It is happening very quickly and we would really apperciate prays, lots and lots of prayer! I know that I will not get to see many of you befoer I leave the country and that saddens me beyond words but I will be back in Dec.

To my girls...I will be in the States for our "New Years" get together, and just cause I am a little further away doesn't mean we can't still talk!

We plan on getting the internet and Vonage. It will be a 574 area code so that all our family will be able to call us for free....how cool is that, living in Peru but family can can local! Technology is amazing!

There is an overwhelming amount of stuff to do, from packing and purging crap, to getting passports and visas, and figuring out how to ship stuff over seas to Lima! It is so much to think about taken as a whole it seems impossible, so I just try and remember to take it in little bits.

The school year in Lima run from March thru the middle of Dec. We will be returning in Dec before Christmas and staying until the beginning of Feb. So if I don't see you before I leave I will see you then!

I love you all.

The picture amuses me, the whole stop no stop thing and them I noticed the gas prices behind the sign...sigh...if only they were still at that level...
Keep up the good work people! If we don't give up we might just make it through this day!

Possible change...

I have talked with a few of you about the life choice that is presenting itself to Emily and I at this time, now I talk to all of you.

Emily and I are considering a huge change in our lives. I would be teaching 4 year old Kindergarten, and she would be teaching grade 4. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for both of us, and would look great on resumes for the future. The trick of it is that we would be doing this in Lima, Peru. It is a Christian English emmersion school called Monterrico Christian School in Lima, the capital of Peru in South America. We are seeking God's wisdom and guidance in this situation. It would be very exciting but we want to make sure we are in God's will if it is to happen.

The other kink in this situation is that the school year starts the first of March. This would mean a lot of change really fast. We are still trying to learn all we need to know to help us make the right choice. I ask that you all lift this up to God in prayer as well.

I will try to keep the blog up to date on this event as it unfolds. Love y'all!

Keep up the good work, if we don't give up we might just make it.
